Found throughout the Maltese Islands in summer. Male sings incessantly during the day by rubbing their wings together, changing the tone or stopping altogether when disturbed. Nymphs live benath the soil; they emerge to moult into adults and leave behind a characteristic nymphal exuvia on walls, trees and plants stems.
